Smooth motion and counterbalance lock
Every movement of the camera matters. The Fluid Drag System (FDS) provides smooth and precise movements in pan (left-right) and tilt (up-down) for professional frame guidance. The built-in counterweight system, optimised for a weight of 2.4 kg (with a centre of gravity of 55 mm), facilitates control when filming. It can be deactivated if required, e.g. when shooting, making the head even more versatile.

Fast and reliable mounting
The 500X head is equipped with the popular 501PL sliding plate and a side locking mechanism that allows the camera to be mounted from the top in no time. Not having to slide the plate in from the back speeds up set-up considerably - just one click and you're ready to go.

Universal and ready for any challenge
The 500X head features a flat base with a 3/8'' female thread, ensuring full compatibility with most tripods and accessories - such as sliders and camera carts. In addition, it is fully compatible with Manfrotto's new XCHANGE quick release system, which allows the head to be attached instantly, for example to a Manfrotto ONE tripod. If you do not use this system, the head still works with the classic mounting system - without any limitations.
